MasterCare Institute
was
established to provide
innovative counseling and
consultation for you, your
family, your church, and your organization, grounded in clinical competence
and founded on Christian faith.
Philosophy of Helping
The incredible potential for healing within people is
accessed in Mr. Marshall's counseling by combining the liberating
compassion of Christ with the best of psychology submitted to the
ultimate authority and wisdom of the Scriptures. This, however, does
not mean "Bible bashing" or proselytizing when counseling or
leading retreats; the first step in extending the love of Christ to
clients is to show respect for their inherent dignity as people
"fearfully and awesomely made" by God. Secondly, to embrace the
belief that each person is fully able to teach a humble listener
what her greatest need, aching, and desires are, leading to a pathway of
healing as client and therapist collaborate in building a treatment plan.
As Rich Mullins wrote:
"I will be my
brother's keeper, not the one who judges him, I won't despise
him for his weakness...
I won't take away his freedom, I
will help him learn to stand*
